Pet Vaccinations
Vaccination is one of the key tools to keeping your pet safe from infectious diseases.
Diseases such as Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus in dogs and, Panleukopenia, Herpes and Calicivirus in cats are all serious, potentially fatal diseases that are easily preventable with regular vaccinations. These diseases are still prevalent in the community and your pet could be exposed to them if unvaccinated.
After puppy and kitten vaccinations, your pet needs annual vaccination boosters to maintain their immunity against infectious diseases. When you bring in your pet to Vaucluse Vets for their annual vaccinations, we will also do a general health check, a full physical examination and discuss any changes in your pet’s health or behaviour.
If you have a new puppy or a new kitten, one of the most important actions to maintain their health and keep them safe is to get them fully vaccinated. If you have an adult pet, it is crucial to protect their immunity by keeping their vaccinations up to date with an annual booster. Vaucluse Vet provides dog, cat and rabbit vaccinations in Sydney.
What is Leptospirosis? Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection that spreads through rodents, and can be found in contaminated water, soil, and mud. Infection affects the liver, kidneys, and other systems in the body, which can be fatal. There is a vaccination that prevents against some of the most common strains and this vaccination has recently been deemed a core (necessary) vaccination for all dogs. Contact us for more information or if you would like to book your dog in to receive this vaccination.
