Caring for your new Kitten
What should you do for your new kitten’s first vet visit?
If you have a new kitten, we highly recommend booking them in for a checkup with us. Our experienced vets will be able to give you guidance on your kitten’s health including dietary requirements, parasite control and disease prevention.
Vaccinating your cat is the most important way that your animal can be kept safe from serious, preventable diseases like Panleukopenia, Herpes and Calicivirus. When you bring in your kitten for vaccination, we will also conduct a full physical examination, so you can leave with confidence knowing that your pet’s health needs are covered.
Kitten Vaccination Schedule
1st Vaccination - 6 to 8 weeks old
This vaccination will likely have already been given to your kitten by the time they join your family, but if they have not received it, please book them in with us as soon as possible.
2nd Vaccination - 12 weeks old
3rd Vaccination - 16 weeks old
This is your kitten’s third and final vaccination!
Annual Booster - 1 year +
A year after their final kitten vaccination, your kitten will now be due for their annual booster, which will maintain their immunity and keep them safe for the next 12 months.
